Mind the Stretch

Good leather takes time to break in. Your wallet might feel snug at first—that’s normal. You can stretch it to fit more, but commit to the stretch wisely. Do you really need that library or Petco card every day? Start with your most-used cards and let the leather form around them naturally. You can fit more over time.

Keep It Dry

Our wallets are built tough, but they’re not waterproof. No pool dives, no washing machine cycles, and no unexpected soakings. If you carry your wallet in your pocket during the summer heat, sweat can dry out the leather over time. In that case, a little extra conditioning might be needed to keep it from getting too thirsty.

Condition When Needed

Most of the time, the natural oils from your hands will keep your leather happy. But if your wallet takes an unexpected swim or starts to feel dry, grab a tin of Smith’s Leather Balm—a simple, three-ingredient formula with no synthetic junk. A little conditioning goes a long way in keeping your leather healthy.
